SKI AREAS


Chamonix is recognised all over the world as a wonderful place to ski with an array of fantastic on and off-piste skiing together with the world famous Vallée Blanche off-piste route. Being a multi-area resort it has something to offer for everyone.


Les Houches has the most sheltered slopes in the Chamonix Valley. It is a popular choice for families, beginners and intermediates and is also home to the popular Kandahar World Cup Downhill race.


The Grand Montets area is the home of steep and deep and a mecca for adventurous skiers and boarders. Thrill seekers can enjoy exploring its bowls and mogul fields.


Skiers and boarders of all abilities can enjoy wonderful scenery at the linked areas of La Flégère and Le Brévent. Le Brévent is easy to access from Chamonix town and a cable car can whisk you over to La Flégère to enjoy its sunny slopes.


Le Tour offers great cruising for beginners and intermediates and is usually crowd free.


OTHER ACTIVITIES


Other popular activities in the valley include snowshoeing, cross country skiing, husky sledding, heli-skiing and ice skating.  Visitors can enjoy panoramic views from the Aiguille de Midi cable car and a scenic train ride up the glacier to explore impressive ice caves.
